Okie guyz, I'm gonna give a little feedbk of my experience aft updatin' e ROM for e iPaq 5450:

The followin' details is based on an iPaq 5450 with ROM version 1.10.00 ENG but without ANY of the previous patches installed.

The update went w/o a hitch, but battery chargin' indicator light is a bit erractic immediately after the update(realli immediateli; b4 even e required reset).

Then I tried to switch on WiFi usin' e 'iPaq Wireless' folder, e WiFi indicator light WUN switch on no matter how mani times I'd switched on(& off, & on again...) 'WiFi' frm e interface itself.

So I went ahead & performed a hard reset & tis time rnd, evthing's bk 2 normal.

After e (1st, nt e 2nd 1 2 correct e WiFi issue)reset, the followin' details're displayed for 'Wireless LAN' under 'Asset Viewer':

Hardware Revision: 6.3
Firmware Revision: 0.90.2.149
Driver Version: 2.2.2.36
Software Version: 4.1.1.15
Module Release Date: 02.09.05

BUT...after playin' ard with e 'iPaq WLAN' & e 'Wireless Control', tis alters for 'Wireless LAN' under 'Asset Viewer':

...
Firmware Revision: 0.90.5.149
...

Now wat I can say is, 'Go figure'...

Some further info includes:

1. Initial total memory is 62.91mb

2. Initial 'iPaq FileStore' onli've 1 folder, & tt's called 'iPaq Backup';

3. However, aft Nevo is used for e 1st time & thereafter, 1 more folder appears under 'iPaq FileStore', & tt's 'Compaq'.

4. Thus, b4 usin Nevo for 1st time, Filestore mem's '0.01mb used', then aft Nevo is used @ least once,, it bcame '0.02mb used'.

5. Nevo's default user is no longer 'Victoria' but the 1st section of 'Owner Name' under 'Owner Information'; for e.g. my 'Owner Name's 'Aaron Koh Yee Ting'; now my Nevo's default user is 'Aaron'! Pretti neat huhz!

6. There's no 'gx.dll' 2 b found aniwhere!

Tt's abt it; anibodi wan further info for freshli updated iPaqs pls ask here b4 I further use my unit...while stock's 'fresh'!

As for the gx.dll file its located in the windows directory and if you don;t have it you can download it from pocketpc.com they call it the gapi software. I think. As for WLAN fixes you might want to try this one...http://www.pocketpclounge.com/viewtopic.php?t=3 Hope this info helps. Peace

gx.dll should be in \Windows, but your file explorer would not be able to see that- instead use your ActiveSync file browser should find the file.
