3970, cutting the sync cable

Hey everyone,

I was thinking about cutting off the serial connection on the cable that connects to the cradle of by 3970, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any potential problems. The wire hangs down the back of my desk, and it's always getting in the way.

I guess it won't hurt as long as you make clean cut and make sure that the coppercore of the individual tiny wires doesn't make contact with each other or anything else in metal.

Considder also that someday you might want to use a serial connection or when you sell it someone might want to use the serial connection. Why not tape it up against the rest of the cable, then it's out of the way.
