Pocket Outlook is part of the Pocket PC system and is already on your device. It consists of the Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes and Inbox applications. It is not a single application like the desktop Outlook.

You won't have to install Outlook on your desktop PC either, Pocket Outlook on your Pocket PC will work fine with Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2002 (XP) on your desktop.

I think what's confusing you is that you get a desktop copy of Outlook 2000 with your PocketPC. It will also work with other versions of Outlook if you've already got a copy of Office XP for instance.

The only confusing thing was the original question saying the CD came with Outlook 2002 installation files, then saying he didn't want to install Outlook 2000 again. :?: Don't the setup instructions make it clear that desktop Outlook installation isn't necessary if you have Outlook already on your PC?
By the way, some Pocket PCs (including my iPAQ 3870) came with Outlook 2002. Microsoft stopped doing that, backing off to Outlook 2000. That's good for people who don't want to mess around with product activation, I suspect. :-)
