Hello,
My name is Mike. I just recently got a ipa1 1910. I am a physician and use a lot of medical software. Only one of my programs is stored in the 256MB SD card, the rest are stored on the main RAM memory. How do I go about transferring progtrams from the regular RAM to the SD memory card??

My next question is how do you direct the installation nso that it goes to the SD memory card and NOT the RAM memory. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

You would have to uninstall the programs and reinstall them to the card. Start the install as normal, and when ActiveSync asks you if you want to install the program into the default directory, say NO and it will give you the option to install to a storage card.

You might want to consider doing a hard reset though if there's a LOT of programs that you're going to be reinstalling; this will make sure there's no fragments left over anywhere taking up your RAM :)

Here's a thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6907&highlight=hard+reset+1910) that explains how to do the hard reset on your 1910.

With regards to hard reset......

Will it also erase the programs that came with the pocket PC such as the microsoft WORD, EXCELL. or does it only erase the files that did not come pre-installed?? Any guidance would be appreciated.

The same programs that were there "out of the box", will still be there...

I didn't see it mentioned specifically but if you have any precious data on your PPC, be sure to back that up to your PC before hard-resetting.
