Here's an article (http://www.theinternet.info/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=56&mode=&order=0&thold=0) on the new Hitachi NPD-10JWL for the Japanese market. I really like this PDA. It has no hardware buttons (w00t!!!) and its extremely small (smaller than the Palm m500!!!). It run Microsoft Windows CE .NET. Check it out.
Currently there are no plans on this device reaching the America's or Europe.

I don't really like it....The specs seem kind of weak (32MB RAM, just reflective screen). It's also fairly thick, but maybe it just looks that way compared to the m505.
If they can figure out how to reduce the clutter on the CE .NET, it might be pretty sweet on the software level, though...
Quite promising.

I agree. Its not exactly loaded on the specs. I think its actually a few months old though we're just getting word of it here in the states.
What is most exciting with this Hitachi, I think, is that it is a great example of where Pocket PCs are headed, especially with its size. Windows CE .NET is far from being widely used (expect it to start surfacing sometime after PPC 2003 or 2004) but this is probably the PPC OS of the future and will probably include some exciting new features.
A bit of a glimpse into the future... I hope.
