View Full Version : The software that you can not do without
First of all I am a newbie. And I wonder what is the software you use the most or in other words, the one that you can not do without?

There's a whole thread here (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10402) on this topic.
I can't think of going without PocketInformant myself.
Actually that thread is not what I am asking. I am asking for 1 software that you can not do without. Thanks anyway..
Just one?
Has to be Pocket Informant for me as well.

Same here. PI is the first thing I install and the only app that's running all the time on my iPAQ.

Resco File Explorer is usually first but my most used app is probably EWallet. Between the Internet and work, I have all my security access in here! An absolute must.
TAgenda is also a must for me to install purely for it's Calender look ahead on the Today screen but many people here obviously go for a fully functional PIM app like PI instead, something which I don't need.

PI for me too

TopDog

The one I always install first on a blank PPC is Agenda Fusion...
Acompanied with the free Today-plugin's Calendar+ and TaskPlus, you've got what Microsoft should have included in the first place!

Toss up between TripTracker and FlexWallet for me...
I'll have to add Pocket Informant too! :)
Also: mBook (microbook) and it is freeware too!!!

For me the top 3 are:
1) Pocket Informant
2) An app I'm beta testing ;-)
3) Resco file manager

That app wouldn't be from a certain David J. ?? ;)

Not that I can comment on that of course - NDA's and all that but I'm not denying it

Check out my post here (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12011&highlight=). I've got them listed there and at the next thread it links to... :D
Pocket Informant, of course.

Pocket Informant is something my PPC can't do without. Although HPC Notes would be a close second!

I don't think I could narrow it down to just one -- there are several applications that are indispensible for me on my iPaq...

If I could only have one, it would have to be Palm Reader.

Well, here's a short list of what I use the most frequently
iSilo - by far, I use the device most for reading ebooks, and for my needs, this is the best reader app.
JournalBar - having 5 days of graphical weather forecasts on my Today screen is too cool.
Resco Explorer - not for itself, but to keep the device tweaked right
tAgenda - Put my calendar and tasks on the today screen properly (free)
HPC Notes - Why the heck doesn't the device properly support Outlook notes out of the box?
Taiyoukei - Keep track of the night sky (free)
Lextionary - more than a dictionary

ListPro - I'm a recent convert, and couldn't do without it now.

Dittos on the ListPro. Next to PI and Codewallet, it's one of the ones I use every day.

For me it has to be MoneyBox (http://www.geocities.com/caitcif). It works better than headache tablets...

...Used together as "one":
PI/Vito SoundExplorer/Vito buttonmapper.
The best "one" for me.

Since the majority lists PI(which I love too!), my most used is Bugme!. It allows you to write an instant note to yourself and attach an alarm to it.
