High Speed CF Performance & Pocket PC Devices

It seems like there's an explosion of high speed, large capacity CF memory cards hitting the market. They all promote superior performance in digital cameras and capatibility with CF standards.
Does anyone know if the same performance can be expected from their use in a Pocket PC device:?:

I have a 20x 256mb compact flash card that I use. However I can not tell the difference between a smaller 16x card I have. I belive that the system bus on the pocket pc is too slow to really take advantage of it.
On the plus size both cards work fine. There are no issues with them being too fast and not working with older models.

Don't know what type of performance to expect but one thing is fore sure keeping any storage card defragmented sure speed things up.
