Updated Software Category on Handango and Pocket Gear

Am I the only one who gets annoyed when browsing the Updated Software tabs on both Handango and Pocket Gear, only to see the same programs appearing day after day - rarely actually updated, merely resubmitted to keep the packages in the public eye. How does one figure when they do actually update?

Handango's system is automated, and automated systems have the potential to be abused. It tells you a lot about the developer when they're afraid to let their product succeed or fail on its own merits and resort to trickery like this. I bet a single email to the developer complaining about this practice would stop them from doing it. :twisted:

I completely agree! One other thing that bugs me about Handango (I generally just use them) are the loads of themes under new software. I have absolutely no problem with individuals selling themes, but maybe Handango should have another tab for "New Themes". What's even crazier in my opinion is when I see Themes in the "Updated Software" section.

I agree to that. If I'm looking for a theme, I don't want to see software. If I'm looking for software the themes really get in the way!

I've passed this on to Handango, and they indicated they'd do something about it... :-)
