I use my PPC at work and at home, at work through the cradle and at home over a BT link through my PC.
I use a proxy at work, but not at home, so I have 2 sets of settings in connection manager. There is the usual 'Work Settings' with my work proxy set up, and another called 'Home Settings' without the proxy option enabled.
My problem is that if I forget to switch from 'Home Settings' when I cradle my PPC at work, ActiveSync (un)helpfully fills in the proxy server settings for me, messing up my home settings. Is there any way to stop it doing this, so things just won't work if I don't pick the correct settings?
Interestingly, it doesn't work the other way round - if I go home and cradle my PPC with either my home or work settings selected, ActiveSync doesn't remove the proxy option :evil:
