iPaq 5455 won't turn on ??!!

I hate this thing!

This morning I tried to turn on my iPaq and nothing happened. Last night the battery was probably around 50%. It was off and not docked overnight. So I tried a soft reset.... nothing! Then I plugged in the power.... nothing. Soft reset while plugged in and it finally comes to life but EVERYTHING RESET (Except the fingerprint pswd). I charged the battery for a few hours but the thing still won't turn on unless its plugged in to power. WTF?

Suggestions?

woops, should have read a few recent topics before posting. I did the battery slider thingy and soft reset. Now I can use it off AC power. I'm off to find the ROM update @ hp.

...still doesn't bring back all my data
