Unable to view jpegs in PIE [Archive]

I recently scanned some greyscale images (maps) and copied the resultant files down to my PPC for viewing. I can't, however, seem to see anything when PIE launches. There are no error messages, just a blank window. I tried Pocket Beholder as well and I get the same thing. I've tried two different files sizes (the original was 1.3 MB, I shrunk this down to 790 KBusing MS Image Viewer) neither of which are viewable. I tried a BMP format as well but the size jumped up to over 16 MB.

Does anyone have any ides or suggestions as to what could be going wrong?

How much free memory do you have?
Any viewer will normally turn the image into RAW format for viewing purposes and this means RAM. If you BMP is 16 MB then you will need at least this much free RAM unless the application has been optimized for PocketPC minimum memory use and they only convert to RAW what is currently being viewed which would mean that the scrolling would be slow.
