the subject says most of it. I am going to get an axim 400mhz ( it is like cheap as all get out) and my dad has an ipag 3975 and his playback of mpeg files is kinda choppy or the sound is messed up. Is this going to be the case with my axim and how do I conteract this? I have heard to get the wmp encoder and encode my files for playback and this helps (or divx). Is this the way or is my dads ipaq just slow or something. what is your experience<

thanks

A lot really does depend upon how the video was encoded and whether it was optimized for playback on a Pocket PC. The device limitations will always make them a bit on the choppy side, but I have no trouble watching a full-length movie on my Pocket PCs.

I've never owned an iPAQ 3900, but I do think that my Axim's video playback is a bit better than on my iPAQ 3800. IMO, the Dell is an excellent device for watching videos.
