Last week, we announced the release of version 2.0 of Sprite's Pocket Backup Plus (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10927). If you'd like to learn more about this cool application, you can read John Mierau's review of it over at Compu2Go (http://www.compu2go.com/). John does an excellent job outlining all that this software has to offer and seems to really like it. Make sure you read the whole article, though, because he uncovers some features that may not be obvious.

Yeah - as a paid user of 1.x, I downloaded the 'free' 2.0 upgrade since I wasn't interested in the paid 2.0 features. But the thing keeps telling me it's a trial version that expires! I try to enter the auth code that came with 1.x but no dice. I emailed Sprite and haven't heard anything. I did not receive a new auth code from them. I'm pissed.

Anthony, your fist and (only email that you've sent us?) has just got here, so I'm editing this post. Our web site describes the upgrade process is and what the options are, for example including that version 1.x users should send proof of purchase.

I'm sorry if you thought that you were getting the upgrade to Pocket Backup Plus for free.

If you don't want the Plus features, you can avoid installing them at all - just choose the custom option and clear the check boxes. You can also uninstall the Plus features at any time using the start->settings->remove programs applet on the System tab.

As posted on our web site last week, some users had problems receiving email from us between approx 4 April and 17 April, as our static ip address was incorrectly listed on five-ten-sg.com site, and it took a lot of effort to remove us from this list. We were receiving email ok, but have no record of any earlier email from you.

Your version 2 code has now been sent to you and I'll also send you a full registration code so that you can use the Plus feature if you want, including backup to PC at 20 times the speed of ActiveSync backup.

Have a good day

Just in case anyone was keeping score, Sprite came to the rescue big time. All is well. Highly recommended software supported by attentive, nice people.
Thanks!

'k, I don't have a proof of purchase per se (the cheque I mailed is apparently still on the wall of your office :)) but I still have the email I was sent with instructions on how to pay by cheque and the version 1.0.0.1 install code. Will this count as proof of purchase?
