DVD-RW?

Is it just me, or did I see a DVD-RW drive on the Inspiron 8500 the other day? Has it seriously become possible to begin including DVD-RW on laptops?

Intrigue me, I bought an Inspiron 8200, 1.9ghz, 512 ram, geforce 4 64mb GO in the summer and this would be rather nice news to hear.

Sony VAIOs had DVD-RW drives since June of 2002. :) Earlier this year they introduced DVD±RW in some of their laptops.

Some Fujitsu laptops also have these. Check out the C2210 (http://webshop.fujitsupc.com/fpc/Ecommerce/buildseriesbean.do?series=AC), specifically the high-end system.

I bought a 2210 (basically the mid-range one, but without WiFi), and I like it. I also paid only $1299 -- $100 less than the low-end one -- and should get a $40 rebate. :-)
