Need serious help!!!

I just got an iPAQ 37xx at Best Buy for $69 (yes, everything works:)) and need some help.

When I try to update to EUU3, it gives me errors and says all the .xip's are invalid! :evil:

Is there a fix for that? The update does nothing:(

Also, I tried to update the rom from 2.14 to 2.20. I have to hold the power and directional pad down and do a soft reset to get to the Compaq logo, but then I have to keep the buttons held down to get to the rom update box and it doesn't do anyhing:(
