I have upgrade my Ipaq 3970 to 5455
I have notice two problems
1. The volume is low comparing the 3970 and it is very inconvenience to use it with GPS system as Destinator
2. My battery hold less then the 3970 battery
I have installed all HP patches but those problems did not fixed
Does it a commune issues or just my Ipaq?
Any suggestion?

Ok, are you sure the volume patch is installed? First of all, I didn't have any of the older devices that others have mentioned, but I didn't _seem_ to have the volume problem others mentioned. In fact, when I listened to music through my headset, I had to turn it down (or is the complaint about volume from the speaker?)

To check if the patches are really installed, I went to settings:remove programs, and I see the following HP programs in storage memory listed:

HP iPaq WLAN sp1 (mine connected to WAP's with no problems except it won't connect to a 'G' based WAP)
HP h5400 Batter Driver Update
HP h5400 Headset Volume Improvement Update
Nevo Update

I've also got a couple of patches for the spb FullScreenKeyboard that I'm testing.

Those are common issues, and have been discussed quite a bit.

Regarding the speaker, HP says that the speaker is much smaller on the 5450 than on previous models, and thus not as loud. The patch only affects the headset volume.

As for the battery, the 5450 battery is 1250 mah vs. the 3970's 1400 mah, but people have said that you get even less battery life than those numbers would imply. I haven't heard a reason for that.

Where do you find the Battery Driver update? I was just on hp's site and I did not see it listed.

this is from the site:

HP iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 WLAN Driver Update Software Solutions
iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 Headset Volume Improvement Update for ROM
iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 Nevo Update for English ROM Version
iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 Pocket Watch from Conduits

Hmm...That's a good question...I would have linked to it from somewhere here. I thought it installed with one of those updates...

Let me see...
I have the following in my service pack folder (where I save those downloads):

sp23372.exe 472 kb dated 3/14/2003 (I think the date is the download date)
sp23388.exe 391 kb dated 3/15/2003
sp23398.exe 1,271 kb dated 3/5/2003
sp23719.exe 1,405 kb dated 3/6/2003
sp23837.exe 1,197 kb dated 3/14/2003

I'm not sure which ones are which...

The reason why you don't see the Battery Driver is that HP pulled the download because it killed some user's systems: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/us/download/17567.html

I'd definitely wait, even if you can get the file...
