Having read the notes on the Toshiba site, there is no mention of the update being country specific, so I guess not.

That's good stuff. Have you installed it yet? Did it work? Etc. I am about to go to school for a month, where I won't have access to a desktop PC, and I don't want to do "unstable" things right before I leave. :)

I have not installed it yet. I am currently using an e330 which came with the updates out of the box. I have an e310 at home though, so I may give it a try later.

From what I can see, the same update file is posted for the e740, e330 and e310 - So much for the updates being device specific!

I emailed Toshiba and received their "we have no timetable" response for an authorized release of EUU3 in the USA.

I'm waiting on the official US release or until my one year warranty lapses. Based on an earlier call to Toshiba, I don't believe they'd honor the warranty after applying an unofficial US EUU3.

No surprise here :wink: I was an owner of a Toshiba E310 until about 2 months ago. I was having some serious problems with the unit, but most of all, Toshiba customer support...or should I say lack thereof :evil: I too got the runaround of "We don't know" when EUU3 will be available. As a matter of fact, the woman I continuously spoke with in Toshiba Customer Relations (Katherine Robinson) regarding the horrible support knew nothing of the E310 even being discontinued. Not to completely *slam* her, I guess that's a Tech. Support issue. Needless to say, I will never again buy a Toshiba PDA. I was very dissatisfied with their support. I guess the point of this posting is to say that it does not surprise me that they did not offer this valuable information to their customers.

Well, this is news! I own an e310, and I'm glad that they are finally providing official upgrades for it. I was holding our, but somewhere in February I caved and downloaded & installed the iPAQ ROM.

Is there a reason I should upgrade. My little e310 is chugging along fine. (Well except for a freeware app I installed which made it impossible to bring up the Today screen. But I uninstalled that)

And honestly I don't even know what I'm running on now.

WMP8.5, Bliss theme, some minor bugfixes. I did run my 3870 at EUU2 for quite some time after EUU3 was released...

Ya, I just found out about WMP. Copied a cool vid clip to my card and got nothing but audio. :(

Just wondering, how do I know if I'm currently on 1 or 2. And if I'm on 1 do I need to go in order, or can I jump straight to 3?

EUU3 should have Windows Media Player 8.5. I don't know about 2. If you haven't flashed before, I believe you've got 1.

I am so tickled. I told my wife why and she thinks I'm nuts. I just graduated from pupil to ponderer. :multi: Ah, the simple things bring real pleasure.
