Vincent M Ferrari

In the two weeks I've had my Axim, I have purchased the following:

Dell Axim X5 Advanced
128 Meg SD Card
Ambicom Bluetooth CF Card
Dell Trumobile 802.11b Card
Charging travel cable
USB Sync Cable
Smartmedia to CF Adapter (For my digicam)
Belkin Pen/Stylus (I think it's Belkin, but I don't remember for sure)

How pimped :pimp: out is your PPC?

X5 400mhz
cradle
extra batt
sync cable
dell case
extra stylii & screen protectors (coming)
gomadic sync & charge cable (w/ ac & car adapter)
256 sd
256 cf
Socket bt (to connect to my t68i)

assorted stylus collection- favorite is the silver cross pen w/ the stylus tip

I was using my "old" toshiba e740 leather belt case to carry the Ax around in, but that has been retired (I felt it was a little tacky to have Toshiba on the outside, and a Dell on the inside)

ummm, I don't think I have a problem, but my wife is calling it my binky. Does anyone know what that means?

It's slang for a pacifier ;-) And also, greek for Vinny... Which is why my wife calls me Binky...

Yup. I JUST got it about 3 hours ago. The suction cup really IS "SuperStrong" - I can't budge it when the lever is in the locked position. I took it for a short drive, and it bounced around a little more than I expected, but I don't think there's much that can be done about that.

The speaker on the back is pretty good - listened to a few songs from my playlist and it's not bad for one speaker. Definitely better and louder than the built-in speaker on the Axim.

I mounted mine to the left of the steering wheel - mounting it in the middle obstructed my vision too much, but to the left is perfect.

I have a Volkswagen GTI with CD and cassette, so I'm going to pick up a cassette adapter tomorrow - then I'll REALLY be in heaven! 8O

Woohoo! Audiovox Maestro, cover sleeve, and 128MB CF card.
Oh, and one of those CF to PCMCIA adapters to use CF cards on the laptop. Worth a shocking $10.

Mine is minorly stylin'

Dell Axim 300
Cradle
Gomadic "Wireless Internet" cable
256m SD card

Planned purchases:
Case(probably Innopocket/proporta)
WriteShields
Wifi CF card
Bigger storage card(well someday!)
IR Keyboard

Of course by the time I get all that stuff, it will probably be time to upgrade! Oh well, such is the life of a geek who loves toys :)

Great discussion. It reminds me of pt's neat little pimped out HP 568 (http://www.pocketpcmagic.com/pimp.html). :) Too bad no one makes a keyboard like that anymore. :(

As for me, I used to use a fairly pimped out 3870 (numerous sleeves and cases, and peripherals) but now I'm on a fairly minimalistic Pocket PC Phone. There's one advantage to that -- much less to carry. :)

Of course by the time I get all that stuff, it will probably be time to upgrade! Oh well, such is the life of a geek who loves toys :)
And whose wallet constantly hurts.

I have a sleek little iPaq 1910 in a case from Handheld Planet. My only add-ons are a 256 mb SD card and a NuShield screen protector.

[note that I emphasize the "sleekness" of my unit. Which shouldn't be in any way interpreted as me trying to compensate for the fact that there are ALMOST NO ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE! :really mad: ]

It works just fine with my 3955 and PocketNES and Doom. Its best to play with the iPAQ in the cradle so you don't have to hold it in your lap while trying to play.

I am an accessory nut. I try not to think too much about the $$$ spent on these toys. I'm fortunate that some of it has been covered by work.

Off the top of my head, I've shelled out for:

4 VAJA cases
3 non-VAJA cases
extra cradle
sync-n-charge cable
2 WiFi cards
Compaq foldable keyboard
Silver Slider
2 x 128MB SD
256 SD
192 CF
Sierra Wireless 510
Sierra Wireless 750
Numerous Screen protectors
4 different 3-in-1 pens/stylus combos

8O
Man, I haven't really listed it like this before. And now it looks like my next device may not be an iPAQ.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to hope my kids think college would be a drag. :D
