Only failure prolly due to ignorance

How do you add files anter loading advantgo?

When i go to add somethig from active sync all i see is adantgo channels.

before i loaded advant-go i could select any files on my pc but now-no option to..

what am i missing?

Another issue is nothing in the "my pocket pc documents folder" synchs with my device.

any suggestions appreciated

You add more Avantgo channels by going to Avantgo.com

THe folder you need to synch files to is "My Documents" not "my pocket pc documents" drop the parentheses and keep the capitals.

My best advice to youe is to do a hard reset (removes all programs, brings your device back to a factory fresh state) and start over. Read the Manual or at least the Users Guide first.

I read the quick start & payed attention to the instructions on P/C screen when reinstalling the software ....and the users guide is telling me to connect the the cradle to the USB port with the PC. off. "Do not have the device in the cradle" "Start up your computer" it says O.K got that. HOWEVER the disc install instructions state "Do not connect the usb to the PC when installing the companion CD & installing activesync ...SO what to do?. I tried it both ways and it worked one way but not the other... Any one notice this with the e-740, or do I need to read the instructions on the install disc and the quick guide (with pictures even) again?
So for now pc and device seem to be talking to each other. The other part of the instructions that seem murky is "step 5" in the quick start guide; "Proceed with the setup according to the instructions on the screen. "When the Connect displays on the screen, click "cancel".......
Do they refer to the part where the pc tries to "find" the device and never does? or are they refering to something else? I've seen a few posts where there is trouble getting a connection.. Thanks for your suggestion to read the instructions.. I dont recall which I followed in the past It did help a bit this time though
