Man, that's cheap.

I wish prices over here in The Netherlands were like that. You know what a 256 mb CF costs over here? A sandisk: 95 euro's. That's over $ 100 !! Man, that **** just aint funny!

I could buy allmost three 256 mb cards for that in the US!

I really wish Amazon would say whether a CF card is type I or type II... not a big deal for most people but I have a Jornada 567 that can only handle type I!!

Here's what their "technical" specs say:
Type: CompactFlash

Whoop-dee doo!

I ordered 1 x 256MB and 1X 512MB on Amazon.com. It tooks over 1 month to ship. By the time I receive them (hopefully before 3/31. Post marked for rebate). The rebate is not valid anymore?
GRRRRR!

I'm 99% sure it will be Type I - only very old large capacity cards, or very new, very high-capacity cards are Type II. Vague, I know.

From Amazon.com:

Geographical Shipping Restrictions

Warranty issues and manufacturer restrictions prevent us from shipping certain products to all geographical locations. Below are some general guidelines. Please also check the product detail pages for any other applicable item-specific shipping restrictions.

...

Electronics can be shipped within the U.S. only. Some can also be shipped to U.S. protectorates and APO/FPO addresses. You'll be notified while placing your order if we're unable to ship specific electronics items to the address you've selected.

Apparel, camera and photo items, cell phones and service, computers, hardware, housewares, jewelry, kitchen items, magazines, outdoor living items, software (including games), and tools can be shipped only to locations within the U.S. and cannot currently be shipped to APO/FPO addresses or Puerto Rico.

In other words, this is only available in the U.S. And with the current situation in Iraq, I don't anticipate it getting better any time soon, especially for Canadians.

I've downloaded the rebate form. Under Terms and Conditions it says 'Offer good only in US and Canada'.

I got what I posted earlier by going through the checkout process. The message comes up right after you enter your shipping information. You'll get the same message.

Sucks, don't it?

Thanks! I haven't kept up enough with things like Type I vs. Type II in storage cards and stuff like that. I'll remember what you said here next time I want to buy something like this! :)

I spent $60 with shipping on a CF card [256MB] just a few days ago. And then I didn't receive the actual item I ordered. [4x instead of 12x; speed doesn't matter, but 12x has lifetime warranty].

*sigh*

I bear quite a hatred towards Amazon.com, so that's a small comfort, I'm still a little upset though. :'(

Which is better, the viking, or the above 12x high speed for $9 more?

For strictly Pocket PC usage, don't waste your money on high-speed removable media as the hardware can't make use of it (yet). If you're going to use it between a PPC and a camera that can make use of high-speed media, go for it.
