So... who is the best Babylon 5 captain - Sheridan, Sinclair or Lochley?

There is also an option for those people who have no idea what I am talking about. Also- what is the best season of Babylon 5?

I voted for Sheridan. I didn't much care for Lochley, though having only been around for one season and the B5 movie River of Souls, I guess we didn't get as much time to get to know her as we did Sinclair and Sheridan. She did grow on me over the course of season five, but she never really replaced Sheridan. Unfortunately, I was never able to see even a single episode of Crusade, so I can't say how she was in that series.

As for the best season, that's pretty tough. The whole series was so well written and so interconnected, it's hard to pick a single best season. If I had to choose, however, I'd say season five was the best. It was really very cool to see the grand story reach its ultimate conclusion and see how all the plot lines from the previous seasons tied in.

It's truly amazing while watching the season one DVDs just how much foreshadowing (if you'll pardon the pun -- B5 fans should understand why that's funny) is woven into each season. Having seen the whole series, you can pick up on things all the back in season one that are revealed much later in the series. J. Michael Straczynski is an amazingly talented writer, and I wish there were more shows with such great story arcs as Babylon 5.

Ugh - season 5??? I thought it started to go downhill 2nd half of season 4. I think JMS got burnt out writing all those episodes himself, and once there was no longer a script editor even.... Oh well. To each their own.

I liked 3-4.5 the most. Edge-of-seat "how am I going to wait until next week" type of stuff.

I agree with Kati. The poor guy (JMS) just burned himself out, writing entire seasons. I do think that any B5 season is better than 90% of the televison that is out there.

2-3-4 were the best seasons. 1 had to set up the characters, so it was just ok. 5 I think was the worst.
