I just purchased the Colorgraphic VGA card, which comes with ClearVue suite software, including presentation software. Played with it some, with some technical help, and got the resolution looking good. One notable problem was that I had text wraparound, out of my text boxes, that was clearly not in the original PowerPoint slides. The Colorgraphic rep called me back (I has sent in an email), and was trying very hard to help figure things out, even reminding me that I could return the product, very good customer service. One possible problem, he suggested, was that perhaps the PPT 2000 (Office 2000) was not supported, but he suggested I try and few things, and to please let him know how things turned out.

I also emailed WestTek (ClearVue). By the way, in my version of ClearVue Presenations (ver 2.11), the Dell Axim was not an option to download to, so I chose a generic PPC for downloading of the program from the CD. WestTek answered my email very quickly, and suggested the problem could be that my font in the slides was not supported. That the Windows CE OS is small and supports a limited number of fonts. If the font I use is not supported, then ClearVue maps to the closest font on my device. I many hundreds of PPT slides, all in New Times Roman. When I asked how (in my ignorance) add this font to my PPC, she wrote that I could perhaps copy the font from my PC to the Windows folder on my device. I was hoping that she would provide a more detailed description, but I just got that last one line reply.

Any ideas or experience here? Or how, explaining to a simple mind, how I carry out this copying of fonts to my Dell Axim?

I could also try Conduit's Pocket Slides, which someone in this forum mentioned before, with the advantage of editing along with the viewing and presentation. I could try that and see if I have the same problem, but I may need to get some other work done before I start down another pathway with other potential complications.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds weird - I use a MARGI card with ClearVue with very new problems. All my slides are set in Ariel and Times New Roman and have loads of lines going to the edge of the frame.

Email me a sample; I have sent you my email address as a PM.

You could also try one of the other presentation packages - they all work with the Colorgraphic card: http://www.cnetx.com/slideshow/ + the four mentioned in this article http://www.pocketnow.com/reviews/slideshow/slideshow.htm

Copying a font to your Pocket PC is easy. Just do the following:

In ActiveSync, click the Explore button on the tool bar.
Navigate to the Windows folder.
Right click in the Windows folder, select New Folder and call it "Fonts". This is optional, but it makes it easier to find your fonts (and back them up). Word and AIM can find them there, but I haven't used ClearVue, so I can't say that it will work with any certainty.
On your PC, open Explorer and navigate to the \Windows\Fonts folder.
Select the fonts you want to put on your Pocket PC.
Drag the selected fonts to the ActiveSync Explore window and drop them in either the Windows folder or the Fonts folder (if you created one).

Thanks for the help, I'll try these suggestions. Please keep in mind I'm on a learning curve here, pretty big curve, e.g., how does one check for a personal message?

I'll post again as soon as I make some headway on this.

On the top, right hand side of the page - you should see a section that says "you have 1 new message" or "You have no new messages". Also make sure you go into your profile (top, right hand side of the screen again, under "Preferences") and select "popup a window on new private message"...

I tried copying fonts, I think they were successfully moved onto the Axim, but no change in the wrap-around text problem. Then last night I downloaded the trial version of Conduit's Pocket Slides. Wow. No problem. So it probably was not a font problem, although it might be difficult to exclude the possibility that one program is better than another at accessing the fonts, I guess. Bottom line, Pocket Slides makes everything look right. Interesting since ClearVue advertises the lack of a "conduit" as a positive. I will most likely purchase this trial version. I still like the Colorgraphics VGA card, and their customer service is excellent. I will try the slide show from the Axim today on a projector, if anything doesn't go smoothly, I'll post again.

Thanks
