PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently upgraded to activesync 3.6 and since then could not connect to avantgo. I saw on microsoft's website that this may happen and they recommended reinstalling the latest version of avantgo. I did this about a million times without success. One other small question, does outlook have to be open before my email is downloaded? I thought it could do this automatically even without opening outlook. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

On the Outlook question, just verified that. No, Outlook does not need to be open on the desktp to sync any of it's components.

As for Avantgo, good luck. I have two Jornada's and it works fine on one and not the other. I think I just need to hard reset and rebuild the faulty one. One thing to try. Have you gone to Settings/Connections/Avantgo Connect and tried a Sync All from there? My faulty one works that way, but not via AS. That way is like you are directly connected to the internet, which you are, via Pass-through, while on the cradle.

thanks sven! can you tell me what to do to sync with outlook without opening it on the desktop? On your other reply i was able to connect directly using avantgo connect, just wasn't able to use activesync.

No. I just closed Outlook on my desktop and cradled my Jornada. Everything sync'd fine and new emails did in fact sync to my PPC. Didn't do anything special. What happens when you have Outlook closed and try to sync?

I don't know what is the deal with the Avantgo problem. My belief that I need a hard reset and rebuild is based on the fact that the Jornada that works is my play/test machine, which does get rebuilt fairly often. The one that doesn't work is my day to day machine which is the one I loath to rebuild. (Incidentally, Avantgo works fine on my Axim too. Same parameters as the other devices, same AS 3.6, who knows . When I get tired of manually syncing, I'll rebuild and see if that helps)

I loaded 3.6 some time ago and started having sync problems. I uninstalled it and went back to 3.5 and things are fine. Well, as much as you could expect them to be with ActiveSync. Too dumb to tell you why, but it's working.

Try upgrading your version of Windows with the most recent service pack and then try installing Activesync v3.6 and then avantgo.
