After about a year of charging my Ipaq 3765 I have noticed a significant loss in the total time I actually use the darn thing. I'm seriously considering turning my Ipaq in for repairs at www.pocketpctechs.com I'm just curious of the results. For those who have sent thier Ipaq's in.....how impressed were you....is it worth the money or should I just invest in a new Pocket Pc? I wouldn't mind a device with built in expansion :D
Thanks for the advice!

You can not safely "upgrade" the battery in your iPAQ. The lithium polymer batteries that they use expand and contract while charging/discharging. A 2000mA battery will put intense pressure on components inside the case, like the LCD display. I have an extra new one (1000mA) lying around if you want it.

Re the 2100mAh battery: While they do expand and contract, I'm sure PPCTechs has tested this and found it to be OK even with the expansion and contraction. Ask them if you're not sure. :)

However, if you're worried about it they also do have the stock 900/1000mAh batteries. Either way, from what I've heard, they do an exceptional job, so snappy2515, depending on your budget it's a decent choice.

They are selling them. Of course they are going to tell you that it will work just dandy. Do you work for them Janak? Or just in their pocket maybe? :worried:

If you need more uptime, I would replace your internal battery, buy a CF Plus expansion sleeve (CF slot, external battery, cover; $99 from HP) or both. However I definitely _would not_ try using a battery that isn't stock. I've seen too many handhelds borked from such an operation.

No, and I resent the suggestion. :? Take a look on this and other boards -- there's been nothing but good things said about them, including the 2100mAh battery upgrade. Like I said, if you're not comfortable with the idea, they also offer stock batteries. I personally do have a original 3650 whose battery is totally shot, and I do plan on getting the 2100mAh installed myself, but to each their own.

You were supposed to laugh at that . . . or at least chuckle.

Y'know, a winky the first time around would have helped.

BTW, you guys might find this thread (http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/forum/showthread.php?s=055aff6d480e610d7e97088b000a9072&threadid=16398) on PPCP to be helpful in making a decision. There's obviously some risk in using a non-stock battery, but on the other hand the PPCTechs guys haven't seen problems AFAIK.

Hi Janak,

Actually Jason had his unit upgraded with the Hi-Capacity battery. We also have released an Ultra-Slim version of the battery.

The issue with swelling was actually a ploy by one of our competitors that was not authorized to sell the batteries.
