Wow! Can't believe I'm going to be first to put my 2 cents in. Just having a place to go to and be with people of the same mind, (oops I meant thoughts) means a lot.
You guys are outstanding and we appreciate all you do even with out contests. Don't stop. Isn't about time for a mid-year one?

It's so deeply ironic that I'd queue this up for a day when I really don't appreciate parts of the community so much. I guess I just have to take the good with the bad...

Hmmm, I didn't visit for a couple of days because my laptop's hard disk started to fail, so I bought a new laptop and was copying my data before I lost too much. :-( What did I miss?

P.S. If you care, I got a Fujitsu C2210 2 GHz P4M, 256 MB RAM (and I just bought another 512 MB), 30 GB disk, 15" screen, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, 4 USB 2.0 ports, Firewire port, 2 PC Card slots, Memory Stick/SD slot. It was $1300 before a $40 rebate -- less than half what my old Fujitsu 750 MHz P3M cost in 2000. So far it rocks!

Nice (except the Memory Stick slot ). If the price wasn't that good, I would have strongly suggested the Centrino/P4-M notebooks, which have better battery life.

Ah, the Leprechaun theme. I'm catching up on the threads I missed while I was gone, and thought he meant the ad blocking thread.

Hey, I puked when I mentioned the Memory Stick slot (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10048&start=27), too, but it overlays the SD slot, so it's not like it's taking up space. :-)
I did look at some Centrino machines, and wouldn't buy them for a couple of reasons. First, they were much more expensive. Second, the processors topped out at about 1.4 GHz, and I was hoping for at least 2.0 GHz. I don't use my laptop away from power much (I have a car and plane adapter, too), so battery life has almost never been an issue for me. (Of course, one time I went on a weekend vacation and forgot my AC adapter. It was tough making it through the weekend. :-))

True.

Apparently, though, they're really fast for 1.4GHz.

Tolja! ;) Seriously, I hope you enjoy your purchase - that's all that matters.
