Now finally owning a PPC 2002 device, I am looking for alternatives of the trusted Wisbar. I looked into vbar, icbar, Gigabar, Small Menu, and Pocket Plus. So far I prefer Pocket Plus.
Any experiences with those program you want to share?
Any other programs that come to mind?
How come everyone seems to own Battery Bar? What's the deal with this program? Is it a task switcher/turn off as well?
Thanks for your input!

I personally use PocketPlus, and find vBar a second. Gigatask is not bad either, but a bit overkill for me.
Another one to look at, BTW, is PocketNav (http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html).

Pocket FaceLift is nice... It provides skins for the buttons, background screen manager, laucher and task switcher.
Three things it needs to be an A+ app would be 1: A quick powerdown button 2: Screen Off switch 3: An improved task launcher manager.
Other than that, it is a plus...

Katrinatwork,
Hi there.
If you have not already done so have a look at Sidex by Mtux.
The basic Sidex program is free as are some of the applets and then you can purchase addition applets for calculator, PIM manager, theme changer etc.
There is a constant very small tab on your screen that you just click and it opens up and gives you options ie System Tab, Launcher Tab etc.
It is extremely efficent and doesn't take up all that much space either in memory or on the screen. You can have the tab either on the right or on the left.
Once you get used to using it, you will see just how cool it is.
There site is currently down but if you go to Handango and do a search for either MTUX or SIDEX you will find the main program and all of the appelets.
Please don't hesitate to ask me questions as I have now been using this program for 9 months and it has some neat features.
I do not work for MTUX nor have any association with them other than being a satisfied customer.

Gigabar (http://www.gigabar.com) is what I use. Very nice and has tons of features. Plus, it's free.

I think I will install Magic Button.
If you want a free turn-off app, there's one i found that looks just like when you go to shutdown in windows xp, with restart, cancel and turn off. and the background fades to b&w just like in xp (not that i like xp especially).
it's called "shutdown"
search on this board or on pocketpcpassion.com i don't remember where i found it exactly.

Good tip on Magic Button! :D
I wasn't really looking for a replacement to the very functional PocketNav, but I decided to give this a try and it looks great!

Wow, Magic Button is very cool!
...and I can see the advertising for this one...
My wife LOVES her Magic Button. She can't leave it alone!
I've been using Vito Task Switcher for quite some time now. It is like alt-tab on the pc (especially if mapped to a button).
