AAAAAAGH! I convinced my wife to sell her seldom used Palm for a Dell and now we have 2 PPC's in the house. I am ready to send her out the door prepared and updated. Here is the problem. We don't need to share most of the tasks, contacts, and calendar. We definitely dont want to share inbox. I was told that there could be two options. Hear they are and how they failed:
1. Categories - Added new categories but they dont show up in for Calendar in Active Sync's Calendar Syncro Settings section.
2. Creating profiles - I created a new profile for my wife and click to select the Prompt for a profile to be used check box. Unfortunately, Outlook is not doing what it promised and I just synced my information onto my wifes PPC. The prompt never comes up!
Help! Please!

Go to start/control panel/mail. Under the General tab make sure that prompt for a profile is marked. If not, mark it. Also you can create new profiles here and also edit them. You did not state which version of Outlook you are using. I have have Outlook XP, I'm not sure if this will work for Outlook 2000.

I currently run Outlook 2002. I followed your advice which is detailed at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312888&sd=tech . Unfortunately, it will not stick. If I set it to prompt me, it does not. I open outlook 2002 without any prompting.

Strange. It works fine for me. Sorry I wasn't anymore help. I'll see if I can come up with something.
Sorry, very basic thing. Have you tried to reinstall Outlook?

I hate to give you bad news, but this is one of the many scenarios that Microsoft hasn't tested for and doesn't seem to understand the value of.

You MUST remove your Axim form it's cradle when you close Outlook...
Because when your Axim is in the cradle Outlook stay open to enable ActiveSync to SYNC... does that make sens...
So, remove the AXIM, close Outlook, then is should ask for a profile...
If Outlook re-open in less than 1 sec IT WASN'T really closed... make sure Outlook is not in your task list when you close it.
I don't have 2 pocketpc on the same computer so I don't know want will append if the "wrong" Outlook is open when you "plug" your AXIM...
I Think making 2 different WINDOWS users is the safest way to go...
