It's not really a new idea, but I like to see how much the wireless infrastructure has changed (Improved?) each time I see this kind of thing. One of /.'s editors is heading out on a WiFi roadtrip.

Planning on doing the same myself later this year. Hope to heavily supplement my GPRS connection with free/cheap WiFI from NY to CA.
