The Ipaqs would be new and 250$ for the 1910 or 260 for the 3835 while the Axim would set me back 320$.

Im in the market for a new gadget(ive used a 3870 previously and rather liked it) so im torn between the minimalistic 1910 the familiar 3835 with its larger screen or the Dell with its dual slots and long battery life.

Is the Dell screen really better then that of the Ipaqs?

Help me decide people.

The Dell's transflective screen is better than the reflective 3835, but 1910's transflective screen is slightly better than the Dell's.

Get a Dell, if you want expansion. They are good for memory and expansion.

Or an iPAQ 1910. (I know, not again huh?) It depends on what are you going to use it for. If you could detail please, it would be gladly accepted.

Question, you had a 3870 and you want to downgrade? Wow. One in a million.

PS: I can aldready read the posts of people disagreeing with me.[/quote]

Used the 3870 in conjunction with a GPS system, the Ipaq and the Bleutooth were troubled from the start and the GPS system most of the times just couldnt find any satelites.

Back it went and was replaced with a Intermec 6651 and a Toshiba 310.
The Toshiba is awesome and fast but there is a delay with button presses so gaming is a bitch on the machine and Toshiba has left us out in the cold with regards to support.

I was thinking of the 1910 as having a cool lil gadget to play with until the next wave of PPC machines with a new OS come along and get one of those or actually getting the 3835 or Dell and trying to make em last for more then 6 months before I get yet another gadget to play with  .

Mind you I do use em extensively, play emu´s and games on the road as well as read emails, use avantgo and use it for general PIM functionality.
Now for gaming and being away from home the 1910 is horrible since the battery is so small so I am more inclined to go with the Ipaq and its bigger screen or the Dell with its deluxe expandability.

Hmm get something silly like the 1910 for the short term or get the Ipaq or Dell and hope there is a way of upgrading them once the new OS comes out and try to make em last a bit longer?

Decisions, decisions.

If you want to be able to use it extensively away from home, get the Dell for sure. The battery will last at LEAST a day with heavy(but not constant) use. It can last up to a week with light to moderate use. And personally I think the expandability is a HUGE plus. If you want something that's going to last you all day I don't think you'll be happy with the 1910.

Forget the 3835 - horrible, bug-ridden pile of poo with a lousy screen. Like Reinaldo said - 1910 if you want size - Axim if you want expandability and battery power.

Hmm but I used a 3870 before and that one has the same screen the 3835 has and I rather liked that.
Looks like a Dell then I guess, and hoping its upgradeable.
Hrm.

Being a current 3870 user... my boss just got a Dell X5 (it's great to have a boss that loves gadgets - we're always comparing notes on the latest news) and the screen is beautiful (noticeably better than mine). I've seen the 1910 in stores and it's also a helluva' looker also but I haven't compared the two side-by-side.

While the Dell is unquestionably the best-bang-for-your-buck, the one thing that struck me was size ratio between the device and the screen. I'm one of those that love the 3.8" screen on my iPaq and I hate the thought of carrying a similarly sized device (the Dell and iPaq were about even in size) with a smaller screen.

This doesn't bother most folks as they do get used to it, but I once had an HP568 and the screen was noticeably small for my tastes for the entire month that I trialed it.
