I was just wondering what the present status is on SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative)
For those that don't know, SDMI is an organization trying to eliminate the the use of illegal mp3s on storage devices.
I have noted that many secure digital cards state that they are "SDMI compliant" however, it doesn't seem that there is any illegal mp3 protection on the devices at all.
As an example, I looked up the Specs on my SanDisk Secure Digital Memory Card and it stated:
"Security level complies with both current and future Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) portable device requirements "
However, I can still copy my mp3s onto my secure digital card.
Just wondering what everyone knows about the situation.
