Guys,

I just got a 2nd cradle for my LOOX, part number S26391-F2485-L200.

The description of the item is:

"USB Docking station
With this USB docking station the Pocket LOOX
can be charged and simultaneously synchronised
with your PC using the included USB cable."

Please correct me if I am wrong but they say "charged and simultaneously synchronised with your PC using the included USB cable". Doesn't this imply that the cradle will charge the LOOX WITHOUT needing an AC adapter?

Well, on mine it doesn't...

Called FSC support in the UK, and the poor guy who took 15 minutes to decide that this particular cradle is "faulty", between you and me, did NOT have a clue of what I was talking about. He confirmed that the cradle should charge the PDA and if it doesn't, then it is faulty and should be replaced.

Basically my question is: can ANYONE with the cradle mentioned above, charge their LOOX WITHOUT the AC charger plugged in? Please check your Part No underneath the cradle. If you can't, can you please just post a "I can't" in here? If you can, how?

Many thanks,

fck

The sentence you referenced merely shows poor grammar, but it doesn't imply that you don't need the power cable connected to the cradle in order to charge the PPC. It says that it's synchronized using the usb cable while being charged in the cradle. It's VERY poorly worded though, I totally understand your confusion.

Indee it is a bummer. A more carefull look on the side of the box clearly states that it will charge with the AC adapter connected to the docking station.

False publicity on their website/brochures!

Isn't that a trading standards irregularity in the EU? ;-)
