I am SO all over this! One of the better glimpses of my iPAQ hell... but I wouldn't give up my device for the world!

i guess a lot of iPAQ, especially the 3600-3700 series is getting old....

But it only seems like it when you have a three-year CarePaq. :)

Nice poem, dude! ;)

-- Here's my little addition

While I've investigated PPCs some more,
Hard resets seem to be a quite common flaw

This happened to me often when I owned an iPAQ,
program died down and I wondered what the f....

It sometimes required only one little fluff,
Screen went black and a-gone was my stuff.

But now things are better, excellent; even nice,
Because of my investment, this new great device,

While Active Syncing still sickens me the most,
I like my e310, and this much I have to boast:

In bus, train, airplane or bed,
My Toshiba has failed to fail me yet.

The funny part is, i saw the headline and said, "Geez, someone beat me to the poem" until i realized it was mine!!!!! :)
and the other funny part is i've been meaning to do a hard reset since i installed all these damn navigation systems - anyway, i didn't think the poem would make front page at ppcthoughts so i sent it over to josh at pdajunkie.net - glad it was appreciated - but be careful...i may write more! :)
Gary
btw - my wife's refurbished 3630 is a disaster, and my 3975 is resetting all over the place - time to look into dells :)

This is how it looked in the original format, i can't believe josh broke up my couplet formatting! also, i used fitaly (have to practice it sometime!)

MY iPAQ
I tap the button, now I wait,
What will be my program's fate?

My little buddy stares back,
Is it having a panic attack?

Now it's working but oh so slow,
Where did my information go?

The clock slowed and will not tick,
My ipaq is a cursed brick.

Not again, to my regret,
Another f#%£&@ soft reset.

Still sluggish, to my dismay,
A hard reset's in store today.

Backup's made, data's stored,
With some luck it will be cured.

Fingers crossed, prayers made,
Reset pressed, stylus stayed.

In a flash, it was done,
I hope this frequent struggle is won.

Registry clean, RAM all clear,
I hug my pristine little dear.

Hours pass, programs all fresh,
Working better? You guess.

Still no better, what could it be?
That darn rotten windows ce.

Windows CE and Pocket PC rep really aren't deserved. 70% of the time its 3rd party software that is the cause. My kingdom for protected memory on my Jornada! This is cool, geek poetry.

Fzara. Chill. ActiveStink on the desktop is somewhat of a hog but on the Pocket PC it’s small and relatively painless. It’s most likely
1. Another app that is being pissy.
2. bad hardware.

A Tongue-in-Cheek Peek

Well, this seems like the right time, place and climate for this ditty, so in the spirit of fun here goes:

5 Reasons I Prefer a Palm to a PocketPC

5. I have a friend who is color blind. The bright colors on most PocketPC’s are tough on his vision. The majority of palms are monochromatic.

4. My 146 year old grandfather can’t keep up with the higher speeds of the PocketPC. The palm’s speeds are perfect.

3. I like vintage items. I can put a Palm on my coffee table next to that dinosaur bone (and fossilized piece of last week’s roast beef).

2. Bill Gates doesn’t make a penny off of Palm (as far as I know).

And the number 1 reason I prefer a Palm to a PocketPC?

1. I could lose my PocketPC. Yeah, sure, I could also lose my Palm, but I wouldn't care!
