Regular price is $26 - $6 (Code: WLC010) = $18!!!

This is a steal! $18 for a PCMCIA WiFi card!

Back to grade school math with you! $26 - $6 = $20.

I visited the site, though, and saw the card was listed at $23.95 (or $24), so $24 - $6 = $18. :-)

The one thing you didn't mention was that this is a PC Card, not CF, so a lot of Pocket PCs will require a weird adapter to use it.

...and that this type of card pulls a lot more power than a CF card. Don't get me wrong; until recently I had been using a PCMCIA WiFi card. But, I've noticed a real difference since I switched to a CF one.

Sorry about the original price error, I was in a rush in typing it lol. Second of all, I did mention it was a PC Card (PCMCIA). There are still those who have iPaqs with PC Sleeves. Me being one of them. :)

So you did. Sorry about that.

As for iPAQs, I know there are a few people who still use those. In fact, I'm one of them. :-) I have a 3870 with a dual PC Card sleeve and use an SMC WiFi PC Card. I think I paid $150 for it back in late July 2001.

Anyone tested this to make sure it works with a PPC (drivers and all)?

It may work, but I wouldn't assume it. Here's what their Web site said:

OS Compatibility: Windows 98/98SE/2000/ME

They may include drivers -- my SMC WiFi card had ARM drivers but only claimed Windows 95/98/NT/2000 support on the box -- but ask before you buy.

You may also be able to download a generic driver. I'm now using the generic PRISM driver on my WiFi card so I can use Pocket Warrior. It's better in many ways (it actually fits the Pocket PC screen, for example), but it doesn't support every option the SMC driver did (power-saving mode, for example).

Anyone know what chipset it is? (Prism, Hermes, ??)

I can attest to that. Went from a D-Link PC WiFi card to a Socket CF WiFi card... HUUUGGGEEE difference.
