I'm having a problem with Activesync 3.5 and my Axim X5 400mhz.

I sync AS for the main reason that everyone does: to sync contacts, calendar, inbox, contacts, Avantgo, etc. However, I've def. noticed lately that when I keep my Axim in the cradle for about 30-45 minutes, I've noticed that Activesync slowly eats up my memory.

I go from about 10mb of free storage and 11mb of free program memory, to 0.1 storage and 0.1 program memory. After that, I usually dont know if the PPC is on or off, since I get a fatal error message telling me to close AS due to insufficient storage space.

I have basic apps loaded on my machine, PI, Pocket Hack Master, Pocket Plus, Resco File Explorer 2003, Flex wallet, and some others. However, when this problem does occur, no program is loaded into the memory except for AS.

Any suggestions?

Are you running JournalBar or something else that shows up on the Today screen? I've read of and experienced problems with JournalBar eating my memory. A soft reset every day or two "solves" it, but that's not a fix.

I think i've had it actually. Just uninstalled the cursed program. When they fix the memory leak, maybe i'll demo it again.

I would double check what options you tweaked with HackMaster. If you change the wrong thing, your system can become unstable.

I'm quite sure it's not AS. It just doesn't add up to me how or why AS would be eating memory. There's a saying from a tech support thread awhile back I really liked: "A professional assumes he's missed something, an amateur assumes the program is bugged."

I have a couple running on the today screen such as:

Pocket Plus
Calendar Plus
Pocket Hotmail

I'm making the assumption that either PHM is buggy, or the new version of Pocket Plus is causing me a couple more problems. I guess we'll have to see.

I've had Microsoft Reader eat memory. If you run it, I've found it best to soft reset.

When I had the memory problem, I found out that when I soft-resetted it, my memory was back to normal.

I found out the problem. I uninstalled Pocket Hack Master and XScaleCtrl, and my memory is stable and normal again.

Thanks guys :D

I'd just like to say PHM has never once ate my memory, nor have I heard of it doing so. My money's on that XscaleCtrl, especially if you actually tried running both at once.

I doubt this, as the application does not run in the background and is pnly run on softreset and on power on.
