character find/replace utility?

Can anybody help me with my problem.
I am looking for utility for pocket PC that can do multiple character replacements in text file.
Instead of manually making search/replace command in Pocket-Word for each character to be replaced, program should make replacement of pre-defined characters automatically.
Program could be text editor, or basic/c++ program, or macro, -any of these would be ok.
Can anyone think of program capable of doing this?
