I have an iPaq 3955. I would like to move some of my digital camera photos from my desktop to the PPC. There are so many software options. I like the SPB Palbum Viewer for $9.95; but they also offer a "suite" for $24.95. Is there that much added value in the suite?

What other viewers do you folks recommend? :?:

Thanks!

Tom

What about the viewer that came with your Ipaq. i use it. it opens just about everything. And best of all it was free. :D

or you can try the quickviewplus, the software included in ipaq companion cd, i notice by using quickviewplus, you can really see the details in your picture! and, you already pay for the software when you buy he 3955, you might as well use it.....

I would recommend PQV (http://www.bitbanksoftware.com/downloads/) Great all-round package for editing some stuff aswell.

DAVA Picture Viewer looks nice aswell but I haven't tried it yet, its freeware. and can be found here (http://www.dicesoft.com/product/dava_intro.html)

Wow, DAVA Picture Viewer looks amazing...I'm definitely gonna give it a try. I'm kinda confused, though - the link on the website says "Order", and includes a (broken) link to "Buy at Handango." But it's also free at PocketGear...

anyways, I will try this soon.

One of the issues I have with the included iPaq viewer is that it just views pix (which is what it's for). I have pix in all sorts of formats on my PC. Some .jpgs are huge and others are small. I have .tif files as well. I think from what I understand about the Palbum suite is that it will adapt pix to work best on the PDA, reducing the size, changing formats, etc.

I guess this is what I need if I don't want to spend forever trying to optimize my photos for the PDA. Am I correct in my assumptions or is there a better solution.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what a .tif file is but the Ipaq viewer will resize your jpeg. There is a little arrow on the bottom left of the screen. If you tap on this you can choose to make the picture bigger and smaller. There is a specific spot to fit to the size of the screen.

I did not mean resizing the image but rather the size of the file.
