Wating for delivery on mine, so I don't think I'll make it. I'm thinking of buying TomTom CityMaps - can anyone confirm whether this combination works? (Using a Jornada 568 with Socket Bluetooth CF card.)

Hi Fred,

Going back to the Socket Forum, it seems another GPS receiver user from the UK ( CK ) gives the TomTom software a thumbs up...

Too bad the details don't include the discount price or information about the software. :-(

I hear ya. But...

It kinda states ( if one follows the Socket forum) the only ones that will know or get the discounted price are those that actually have the Socket GPS receiver and register it. An inhouse kinda promo for Socket's own GPS receiver customers.

And yes, Socket has been pretty hush hush for whatever reason on information for the software... except that it uses map data powered by NavTech...

The reason I posted this informaton is to give those a chance that DO have the Socket GPS receiver an opportunity to check the offer out since it *supposedly* is only good thru this week.

I appreciate that, but knowing what the price is and what the software does might be more effective to get people to register. Uncertainly is fun on "Let's Make A Deal", but not in real life. :-)

True, I don't own the Socket GPS device, but I do have a Bluetooth PDA (an iPAQ 3870) and I do GPS. If the software looked good enough, maybe I'd consider getting this, but, as I can't see what it does, I can guarantee that I won't. I can't just buy the receiver alone, because my Pocket CoPilot software won't work with it.

And I hope those that can take advantage of that offer appreciate it. :-)
