If ya ask me, something pretty cool about 2500 PPCT member avatars making up a mosaic of Jason's. 8)
(200 unique designs, unsure how many are actually used.)

I guess you didn't need a "broken" avarat, huh? 8) How did you pick the avatars?

EDIT: I was about to correct my misspelling of "avatar" but I thought it would be amusing of I didn't :D

Just found the topics that drew out the most lurkers (ie, giveaways, offtopics, how'd you pick your avatar, etc) and right click, save, right click, save.. repeat 198x.

I'm sure I should have used some kinda spider-ish program to mass download them, but didn't want to make Jason think I was trying to DoS the place or something. Besides, I wanted recent posters. I didn't really want folks who signed up a year ago and never returned.

Did you use your own avatar?

Have you... seen the pics? I'm in any of the white areas.

Indeed. And if you're STILL having trouble finding me, check this one. If you can't find me in this one... you're A) blind and/or color blind, B) horrible at Where's Waldo, or C) incredibly drunk... congrats!

I found you! :D Still, it amazes me the work you put into these things! I would ask for one of my avatar, but it is rather... bland. :(

Just so you don't get the wrong idea, the program does all the work. Only thing I did was collect the avatars and fiddle with the settings until it looked good. :) Sometimes the hard part is more on the idea and finding the tools to make it work, every once in awhile the execution is the easy part.

Collecting 200 avatars is no easy task! I understand that a program does the work, but you have to give it images to manipulate... and I am stunned at how cool these things are! :D

P.S. - Take the compliment. I may not offer it again.

You could just flush you browser cache, browse the site for a few minutes then most of the image in your cache would be avatar. And just use something like acdsee sort the images by dimension and erase anything bigger that 75x75 :-)

Btw really nice job 8)

Now keep in mind this image set was created for Jason's pic, which has no red in it at all, and little white... so this is the best I can do. :) (without creating a new avatar set)

Whoah. Nice job Rirath. BTW, aren't you steadily killing your server bandwidthwise?

I am a bit worried about that. I uploaded em to my ISP's free space since I don't think they really care... I see nothing about bandwidth limits. but I didn't exactly expect 3000 views. 8O Oh well. :D

Good Job! 8) It's so cool what you can do with the technology. (Would it be too much to ask which program you used to do that Ritath?)

The links to the softwares are on the first page of that thread. (And posted directly above) On the 3th page is the avatar database I put together.

If you want to do it yourself, download the program from the link on the first page. Here's the mosaic library I put together with a little over 200 PPCT avatars... Avatar.mzb (http://home.insightbb.com/~tonyp/avatar.mzb) Avatar.cdx (http://home.insightbb.com/~tonyp/avatar.CDX)

I think that'll work, and I think you only need the .mzb.

I'm just using the shareware. :)

Rirath,
Do you think that you can possibly ZIP all those avatars and post them for download? I plan to download the shareware as well... :D

Rirath

All you should need is the .mzb linked above... I believe. I'll have to wait til someone tries it.
