Sounds good, but is there a demo version? (Not that I can't drop $3.50....just curious!)

If anyone has tried this I would like to know what they thought. And if you have an iPaq 1910 even better. :D

Yup, just installed this on my Axim...no benchmarks, but everything seems lightening fast. Well, at least faster than the default 400 MHz. Seems to be legit.

When I click on it, it says:
"This application only works with XScale Processors. This application will now exit"
=>Loox has an XScale Processor.
Yes I downloaded the right Version and emailed the Developer already!

Well I just tried it with my 300 Axim and it does seem faster. I overclocked it to 400. Locks up at 500. I'm not really a benchmark guy so I'll be interested to hear from those of you that know how to do it.

You guys are a riot. :D
This is a picture of a girl I know. Not my current girlfriend but so damn cute I couldn't resist.
Me, on the other hand, I just look like your average handsome geek....... Well maybe not average. 8)

This is a known limitation of the Axim, the 300MHz Dell Axim can be scaled up to 400MHz
and the 400MHz Dell Axim can be scaled up to 500Mhz.

I think that the demo version would be a good idea however I am struggling to find a sensible way to implement this as I do not believe in tying software too tightly to the Pocket PC device ID as people do have more than one device and also upgrade their devices.......

mpattman, develope a trial version for 10 days which will allow the application to be run freely.
For the registration, simply create a registration field where one can enter in the registration number. This way, if someone has to transfer this to another PDA, he can simply use the reg. number.

It is great that some developer of software still care. I got an answer of my little problem with Loox within an hour of the original email and he sent me another fixed Version straight away.
WELLDONE wibble-wobble.com and I certainly will do business with him again.
Thank you for your help!!
Checking out the change in speed now!

Love to try it and the price is great but what are the odds of my Axim having a core meltdown by using this program ?????? ;-)

Couldn't run it at 400 though, but 350 is great still. DivX movies are totally smooth in PocketMVP now.
It's definitely worth the $3.50 I think.
I'm a little leery of purchasing something that I haven't tested on my device yet, even if it is only $3.50.
If anyone has the stomach to try this on their e335, let me know.

EDIT: On the other hand, this may be a good replacement for Pocket Hack Master. I don't necessarily need all of the manual settings of PHM...I just want a simple utility that will ramp up the speed on my pockect pc.

I guess that an obvious question would be even though it is only half the price how does it compare to Hack Master?

btw, why is the "S" of "Scale", in "XScale" capitalized?
The program should be renamed "XscaleCtrl" IMHO.
My 0.02.
btw: mpattman, we should work together. I can be your Senior Marketing manager once this program takes off!
(Heh. Just a thought  )

Well I tried this on my 1910 and I had to hard reset after going to 400. It's running pretty stable at 300 so I think I'll stick with that setting.

mpattman, develope a trial version for 10 days which will allow the application to be run freely.
There is now a trial version that is fully functional for 5 days.

I'm glad I tried it before purchasing...I tried overclocking my Toshiba e335 to 400Mhz and it locked up. Had to do a hard reset then restore from backup.
It figures. The first time I try to overclock my device, after much debating with myself, it locks up.

OK did a full backup, downloaded the demo and installed it.
My Axim seems faster overclocked to 500 and IS faster both according to VO Benchmark results (Even better numbers than on wibble wobble web site. Playing videos on Pocket MVP results in smoother playback, fewer dropped frames and faster frame rate. Been using it about a hour now and no lockups so seems pretty stable. So my question is, what's the catch ???? Seems to good to be true and unless someone tells me that program causes warts or hair to grow on palm of my hands I'm certainly going to buy the program. Still, seems to good to be true

OK , bought it and still seems to be performing well and no lockups. Was wondering. In settings , power , processor the auto setting allows the processor to switch between 200 and 400 MHZ depending on system status. With the Axim overclocked to 500 is it now switching between 200 and 500 or is system locked at 500 ?????

My question exactly.
Has anyone else tried this on a Toshiba e330/335?
Was wondering if I'm the only one that was unable to use this...
