Sometimes when i am in a hurry, or driving, I dont want to fiddle with getting the stylus out... so I just use my finger to, for example, get into windows media player, go to the next song, etc.
I use a screen protector.. so other than "oil" is there anything wrong with that?

Nope. At least IMHO. Look at the PPC Phone edition. The dial buttons aren't big so you can hit them with a stylus easier ;)

Would suggest using your finger nail tip so it takes less pressure, but no worries.
Many programs are even designed for finger input.

A good example would be the software buttons available in emulators like PocketNES (http://pocketnes.retrogames.com/).

I use fingertips/fingernails all the time (but gentle on the nails).

For me, fingernail taps are much more precise and better received than fingertip. Also, fingertip smudges my screen...
