Hola guys, newbie here to these forums. Forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum.
I have an Ipaq 3870. With 32 MB MMC card.
I have some shortcuts in the start menu pointing to the MMC card.
But during bootup (after soft-reset) the PPC just likes to stall there with the square with the quad-circle inside doing its thing. I just noticed that it stops stalling when I take out the MMC. Then I just put it in again.
I dont know if it has been like this from the start, I just only just now noticed that the slowdown is because of the MMC.
Anyone having this problem? Is there a remedy?

Oh this also happens sometimes when I revive the unit from standby mode (meaning I pressed the power button to switch it on) - it takes a long time for the box with the circle to disappear. Unless I take out the MMC and put it in again.

Do the Start Menu shortcuts that point to programs on your MMC card have the correct icons?
I have a 3870, too, with a 128 MB SD card (which is similar to an MMC card). While I don't see any delays in startup, I do notice that shortcuts to programs on memory cards have the default program icon, not the icon you'd normally see.

You'll see major delays if you have any shortcuts pointing to Games or other large programs. I never put shortcuts to MMC/SD programs in my start menu anymore for the purposes of avoiding the lock-up or delay associated with the startup.
Actually, come to think of it, I saw this issue more often with my old MMC then I do with my current SD cards. My previous 128MB SD gave me some problems once in a while, but my current cards (256MB and 512MB) are relatively trouble-free.
