Question for you guys. Since it sounds as if MS is going to be releasing Pocket PC 2003 .NET or whatever they are going to call it…..I'm wondering if anyone else is twitchy about purchasing new software with a new OS so close to being released to the masses. Last thing you would want to do is shell out $50 buck, or even $10 for that matter, on a few products just to find out that they don’t work on PPC 03.
Any thoughts? Does this concern anyone else? I was going to purchase a few apps and I realized this possibility…..Hmmm :?

Eh, fat chance. Do you have any idea the heck people would put MS through if the professional apps stopped working? The vb wanna-bes selling programs for $2, who knows... but they don't work to begin with so you can't blame MS for that. Even if it does happen, the big names should put out new releases.
Enjoy life, worry less. Who knows, but until I actually hear something saying it, it's the least of my worries.

I agree largely with Rirath here. If you need the app, go for it; unless it's a specially-hardcoded app, I'd expect it to work. (No guarantees, though. :))

My fear is buying software that adds features to the OS and then those features are included in the next OS.

Well, you can always feel good knowing that you put some food in some developer's table. :D

I've actually been considering this more and more as of late. Most apps from trusted developers should be OK (if they don't work, I trust the developers will make it work).
I am now intentionally trying to avoid apps now that appear highly OS-dependent or device-dependent... the more loosely-coupled, the better IMO.
