Get their digital wallet product, Flex Wallet, for only $4.95 instead of $19.95 (this includes the desktop version for easier data entry). Flex Wallet is a superb program, so if you've been waiting for the right moment to secure your important data on your Pocket PC, this is a great opportunity.<br /><br />I use my digital wallet to store domain login info, medical info, credit card numbers, calling card numbers, login/password info for various Web sites, etc. - whenever I hard reset my Pocket PC, getting my digital wallet up and running is my first priority. I use the desktop client at least 10 times a day as well - the combination of secure data on both my Pocket PC and desktop PC is invaluable to me.

Heck ya... finally. Ya know though, not to sound ungrateful but sometimes I just wish they'd sell it for the $5.00 and get it over with from the get go. I mean, how would you feel if you paid $20 for the software last week? Now it's $3.50. I love these massive sales, but it's almost to the point where I never buy anything anymore unless there's a sale on it. Otherwise I'd be ripped off.

Thanks guys!

How does this compare to eWallet that came with my iPAQ 3850??

Any reason to have both?? It's such a great deal

The biggest difference I noticed is that flexwallet will let you make or customize your own templates. Very handy. It also displays only the fields that are filled in, instead of all the default fields. Less confusing.

Wow US$3.46! Even though I am perfectly happy with eWallet from Ilium Software I just bought FlexWallet anyway. At that price I'll give it a try, if I don't like it's no great loss.

UPDATE. Well I guess it's no great loss. :( The desktop version only runs on Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and will not run on Windows 95, 98 or ME. Not such a great deal for me. I think that I'll be seeing more of this so maybe its time to bite the bullet and upgrade to XP.

Couldn't resist it at that price, and very much glad I didn't.

You guys are making this transition to the Pocket PC from Palm sooooooooo easy!

This program totally rocks. In about 20 minutes, I have about 3/4 of my info in it already. Excellent software, and thanks for pointing out the great deal that they're having. :)

Great deal! Thanks for informing us! Just a few days ago I was reading a debate on FlexWallet and eWallet, and I did not even bother to try either of them as I knew I would not be able to justify $20 for this software at this point in time. At $3 and change, I just bought it without even trying it!

At $3.43 I bought it without even knowing what it does!

Luckily, I didn't upgrade the Ewallet yet which cost me $16.95. At $3.46 of Flexwallet, I have to sit down to enter all my records from Ewallet. If I like it, I will dump Ewallet which is very limited forms and options.

That's like $6CDN! I grabbed it at that price. I wasn't even considering it when it was $20USD.

Lessee... In the past month, I've obtained

ListPro Free*
PoQuick.net Free*
Billable Buddy Free*
Flexwallet ~$6

Way to go, PPCT team! :D 8)

I have both Code Wallet Pro (DeveloperOne) and Virtual Wallet (Applian) installed on my PPC. I haven't yet played with them but have registered both. How do they compare with Flexwallet? Should I spring for Flexwallet or just go with one of these I already have?

I have been using eWallet for more than a year and was going to pay the $16 for the upgrade, but when i saw this at $3.46 - better get a new product!

Now it is time for copying and pasting....arghhhh if there was an export/import feature!

From a user-interface aspect, I really like FlexWallet, but all my data is in Codewallet...&lt;sigh>. But if I were starting from scratch, Flex Wallet would be my application of choice for sure! :way to go:

Now it is time for copying and pasting....arghhhh if there was an export/import feature!

Flex Wallet uses XML for import/export, and I contacted both Ilium and DeveloperOne to encourage them to add XML import/export - even offering them free advertising on the site as compensation. DeveloperOne said they probably would go ahead and add it, Ilium was "no comment". So there's hope...but not today.

Hopefully pocket pc software companies will realize the need to include a standard for importing/exporting data between different products.

For now - copy and paste!

$3,46? Ridiculously low price. I'd have paid $10 without preview, on reputation only. I've been waiting for such an app in the $10-15 price range ever since I converted to PPC from Palm last summer, but couldn't find anything I liked.

XML export: perfect. I will be able to keep a backup (encrypted of course) in a universal format.

I'm another who bought it without even trialing it. However, I discovered after downloading the desktop piece that it doesn't run under Windows 98. Rats.

Oh well, was planning to upgrade to a new machine in a few months anyway -- I'll stash the desktop app away until I'm running XP...

Check the banner on the main PPCT page, left hand side.

I'm with you asatyss. In the past I only gave this type of program a passing glance, but at lt $4.00 it was too good to pass up. It has far exceeded my expectations.

BTW, I thought I could do something like this myself in Excel. No Way! This program is great. Fantastic UI and very easy to load data into it.

GREAT JOB JASON :way to go: !

Flex Wallet uses XML for import/export, and I contacted both Ilium and DeveloperOne to encourage them to add XML import/export
A stupid question (at the risk of being off-topic) but what advantage is there to the developer to include an import-export feature to these wallet programs?

If everyone does it, it allows users to move from one application to another, and each company has to compete on the merits of having the best product on the market. If they lock in the user data, they compete on the basis of holding clients "against their will". That's what I tried to pitch them on at least.

I've been dragging my feet on using one of these "Wallet" programs for a while. I've had a fairly unprotected and unsophisticated Excel file in use for several years.

This was such a good deal (coupled with the positive comments) that I jumped on it and am taking the opportuiniy to clean up the old excel entries as I move things over.

Once again Thoughts has pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks for the tip.

Even though I have been very happy with ewallet, I too couldn't pass this up. I used the promo code noted from Brighthand (684F73) and it was even cheaper. I will try it out tonight.

I can not pass this up. The PDA version and the dekstop version for $3.46 using the Brighthand promo code! Have not even tried it, but for so cheap, who cares!

Same here Jason but I was hoping somebody would post a way to export the CodeWallet database over. I guess that’s not possible!
Anyhow I'm happy with CodeWallet but the price on FlexWallet sure is tempting. :P

:(

Well, **** (sorry for my language) but I did pay $20 for it last week!
[Wow, there's a profanity filter... damn!]

They could at least ramp the price down slowly.

Now I gotta go and complain about a refund.

I feel for ya, but this is a special 48 hour promotional price, not a permanent price. You don't "ramp down" the price for limited time offers. ;-)

Hmmm.... I'm pretty happy with CodeWallet, but if I hadn't have been away this weekend, I would have picked up Flexwallet at that price. It would get me a desktop interface for cheaper than buying the CodeWallet one....

Well, I bought it during the price-drop, and used the promo-code, so thanx for posting this.

This is a GREAT app - I've never utilized the PIN-lock on the PPC that locks the entire thing, since that makes it annoying for me to use for non-sensitive stuff (like, almost everything).

I really like the fact that the pre-built templates cover almost everything I can think of, and it even had the icon for Diners Club (which I use). Previously, I was keeping my assorted Credit Card info and Server IP addresses/logins in cryptically-written notes (literally, in the Pocket Notes app), but i did it so round-about that I had trouble figuring out my own schemes.

This wallet thing is perfect - and the desktop edition was free! (although, to be fair, I had PGP on my desktop for encrypting files, and I kept stuff like credit-card and server info in an encrypted notepad file, but then that isn't like having it in my pocket all the time, is it?)

It'd be nice to have a Windows Login template that has PC title, username, password, and domain. So far this program has worked great for me since at work between all the programs we use I have to remember something like 4 or 5 passwords.

FlexWallet allows you to make your own template! Which you can export to other devices or so you have a backup.

It's really great. But export of data only works from the desktop version.
