This is for those folks who insist on downloading the latest and greatest from the web, and feeding the CD that came with the Dell to their dog :)

Like any USB device, the Dell needs drivers. They are loaded automatically when you install off the Dell CD with ActiveSync 3.5. The Dell drivers are not included with the downloadable 3.6 version of AS from MS. If you just install that, and then cradle your Dell, you'll get the unknown device...where are the drivers? prompts, and need your Dell CD. Dell has kindly made the drivers available on line. This way you could be on the road and possible want to attach your Axim to a friends PC, and actually get all the needed stuff off the WEB.
