im having a really hard time choosing between a pocket pc and a palm. i know most of you are gonna say palm bu ive read some pretty unbiased opinions on these forums unlike your average palm forum where they all say get palm with this app it will do this ppc feature etc.
I want to use my PDA to listen to mp3's
do school assignments
watch movies
take notes
to do list
calendar
and maybe wireless(going around europe soon and wi-fi will be usefull maybe)
games
ebooks (btw can i read plam ebooks with a ppc? 3rd party app or something?
well thats about what i want to do with it what do you guys recommend
btw looks for price around 900 dollars au
www.ow.com.au for prices if you need a reference
thanks for your help :)

WHAT??? I bet 99,9% of us will say PocketPC... your on a PocketPC site for crying out loud :-)

You can use the PocketPC to:

school assignments (depending on what the assignment is)
watch movies (both MediaPlayer, RealPlayer and DivX)
take notes (Yeah... both notes and small word'ish tings)
to do list (your ordinary outlook tasks and more heavy stuff)
calendar (Outlook and outlook on steroids if you need)
wireless (GSM/GPRS/WLAN/Bluetooth... it's your choice)
games (Ohhh yeah, Snails, Rayman, Age of Empires... you name it)
ebooks (all kinds, just download the proper reader)
mail (POP and IMAP4)
IM (much cheaper on GPRS than you ordinary SMS)

And so on and so on and so on...

I don't know if Dell is going to release in Aus., but can't you order one off line and have them ship anywhere?
From all your other questions, The Dell or any other pocket pc will do all of these things and more, and yes you can read palm ebooks on a pocket pc.
I ordered a Dell because of all the great reviews, but then cancelled my order because I read in the forums here that the IR port was somewhat weak on it. This made it a no-go for me because I like to use my pocket pc as a universal remote as well. I was using my hp568 with tvremotecontroller, but I bought an iPaq 3970 with nevo remote built in.
Good luck on which ever one you choose, if you don't need remote control capabilities the Dell is an awesome pocket pc for the price.
