<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.covers.com/covers/mobile/mobile_PhantomFiber.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.covers.com/covers/mobile...hantomFiber.asp</a><br /><br /></div>One of the major problems with most wireless sports content is that it's very minimal - you might get scoreboards or other high-level updates, but rarely can see play-to-play-level content unless you "graduate" to full-sized sites. This is especially frustrating for the baseball fan in me - if you're at all like me, you want to be able to see detailed news, a live box score, a play-by-play, or even a matchup while the game is in progress. This might be one good step towards my solution, and I'll have to try it in March when preseason starts. For those of you who are basketball and hockey fans, let us know if this is up-to-snuff!<br /><br />"Don't have time at breakfast to view the daily matchups of all your favourite teams? Need more time to check out the in-depth stats of all major sports? In a hurry to get to work on time? Bored in the taxicab? Another delay at the airport?<br /><br />Check out Covers Wireless. Powered by <a href="http://www.phantomfiber.com/">Phantomfiber</a>. See all the day's sports matchup statistics and in-depth analysis on your Pocket PC or Palm OS device. Best of all, it's FREE!"

I loaded this on my PPC and I decided it wasnt for me, so I figured I would just delete it....not so fast. The program will not go away. Uninstall kept causing me problems, so eventually I just went into file explorer and deleted the files. Well part of the program still wont come off the uninstall list because it claims it cant cuz it is using two of the windows fonts that are in use. It says I need to stop all running programs first, but none are running!!!! what can I do???

okay i got rid of it by temporarily changing the name of the font files. Now the icon for the program is still on my programs menu though, is there a way to remove this? I am sure others may enjoy this program, but I have had nothing but problems trying to get rid of it  The only problem I had using it was that it was more betting oriented than sports info.

IntegraPrelude98 (hmm, I wonder what you're driving ;)),

Use File Explorer to navigate to \Windows\Start Menu. It should be somwehere in there.

Did you try a soft reset before the uninstall? That usually helps.

I'm sorry to hear it's mostly betting-oriented. I was suspecting something like that, but it sounded generically interesting enough. Injury reports, etc. would factor into that, I guess. But I'm sure it's useful for the right people... ;)

Use the PPC long enough and you'll run into programs that can't uninstall b/c of files in use (despite a soft reset and no other programs using the files in question).

Generally, once you're able to rename the files that the uninstall routine complained about, then you should be able to run the uninstall again (this time successfully).

If that doesn't work, then you can find the full set of icons displayed for the Programs menu under "/Windows/Start Menu". From there you see all the icons displayed on the Start menu and if you go to the Programs folder, you see all those displayed on the Programs menu.

Find out also where the program files are stored (probably somewhere under the Program Files folder) and then delete the folder created for the app. This should only be a last resort if the uninstall still can't "uninstall".

That's too bad. I'd really be interested in a detailed sports site that I can just replicate through Mobile Favorites. You're right, most all othe ones available now give really high-level cursory information.

Hi all,

I am surprised that people have been clouded by the betting element of the application. I actually downloaded the application and used it and I am COMPLETELY AMAZED that this content is in real-time with that kind of rich interactivity. Show me something that comes even close to this! Cell phones with WAP -- yeah okay! And I have an Sierra Wireless AirCard to boot.

The fact that there isn't enough content-rich sports available isn't the fault of Covers.com (they're a sports betting site) and isn't even the fault of the developer.

Perhaps what we should be saying is "impressive" and maybe even contact the development company to give them suggestions for content providers to pursue. Content and information is nothing. It's more the technology that counts in delivering it.

Either way, thanks to your source as it looks like a great new toy I can use.

Keep up the great work on the site. I am not sure about the uninstall issue -- does it seem to be a application-based issue or a PocketPC issue? Can any experts find out...I certainly would not want to have problems removing anything...then again, why would I remove this...okay ...so I like a little betting. :-)

Oh, I agree completely. I'm just not looking for betting info, but rather more general detailed game info. For those of you in the betting scene, you should probably check this out.

Don't get me wrong. I agree with you on some of the points listed. I was looking for something out there and this is the closest -- some of the other features like live updates or video updates on a device would be quite intensive. With the bandwidth issues, it might be some time coming.

What are some of the sporting sites you like to get your news from -- maybe we can start a movement and get these things produced! :-)

Looks like your problems are solved. An official response from the developer/Covers Wireless on this issue. (you need to sign-up to the forums, though)
