I have a 1910 and I am a new ppc user. I used to use palms....

I recall someone saying to keep as much memory free as I can so programs will run faster...how much do I need free? I try to install the programs I download to my SD card...but some i Put in internal memory..a.nd some I think went to internal memory even though I tried to select the storage card...

i know I can remove some from storage by going through settings and removing them....if I need to.

what programs do I NEED to keep in main meory...and how much main emory should I make free ??

thanks

There's no real set limit on how much program memory you need to keep. At least keep 10-15MB...probably more. But I get by with around 10 or 13, because my Maestro only has 32MB of internal RAM.

There are some programs that will not function properly from a storage card (like NoteM comes to my mind). In that case, you'll need to install to main memory. However, there aren't too many instances where you HAVE to install a piece of software to your internal memory.

The pocket pc os will automatically divide the program memory and storage memory based on the usage of either. You can temporaly adjust this by tapping Start> Settings> Memory and adjust the bar.
