Im a long time VB programmer, and Ive already got eVB installed and toyed with it, nice....

Sold my Palm, bought a Maestro... Waiting for it to be delivered, but in the mean time I have a few questions...

I know the Palm wouldnt 'multitask' per say, but the PPC will. However, will apps run while the PPC is OFF?? That is, if I write an alarm clock program for the PPC and run it, then cut off the PPC, will the alarm clock program still execute and sound the alarm at the preset time?

Thanks for any help, Im sorry to be such a newbie, but I simply dont know...

You don't actually turn a Pocket PC off. You essentially put it into a standby state to conserve battery power. So the answer to your question is "yes" you can do what you state above.

Thanks for that helpful reply! That does however lead me to another question...

Im seeing battery times listed on average of 8 hours standby... That doesnt seam like much, am I misreading something?

With my Palm (forgive me....) if I didnt run it, it would go for 2 or 3 days easy without charging... but run time was about 4 or 5 hours.

What can I anticipate as usage? Getting Maestro, same as Tos E570...

What can I anticipate as run time? 3 or 4 hours?
What about standby time? A day or two??

Thanks all!
Andrew

Usage will be around 3 or 4 hours.

As for standby, the battery will be fine if you leave it around for a day or two, maybe even more. Don't worry, your PPC will last while on standby for MUCH longer than 8 hours.

I think what they may have meant by "8 hours standby" is that if you leave your Maestro on without doing anything, it will last for 8 hours. That's the only reasonable explanation I can think of... :D

Thanks, thats more like it... There seams to be some deviation from standard terms depending on what your reading, and where... :-)
