I have had a look through this Forum to find a way of increasing the Brightness on my e740. But I could not find what I was looking for. I have increased the 'Frontlight' setting to 'super bright' but it is still 'dim' to me. Is there a way to increase the brightness above this? Or is this the maximum brightness I will acheive?
thanks

Unless your screen has troubles, this is the brightest you'll get. The e740's brightness is less than other reflective displays, like the 3870's or the Pocket PC Phone (and obviously it's much less bright than transflective displays).

Could be you have some sort of problem with you screen. Mine seems plenty bright for most uses. (not as good as some others though especially outside...Doh!)
You can get a contrast control in your system settings by hacking your registry:
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Contrast
change the contrast "Redirect" to "xRedirect"
after a soft reset you'll have a contrast control panel.
I find that changing the contrast makes my screen feel brighter at lower frontlight settings, but I can't tell if I'm imagining the whole thing
good luck...josh

Josh, can you recommend a good registry editor? Thanks.

Sometime this afternoon (Eastern time) an article will be posted that may answer that question for you. :) In the meantime, check out this one (http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/).

Many thanks to all. I have downloaded & Installed the Registry Editor & it is good. I have not obtained the results I would like. But I can live with it.
Many thanks to all
Mark
