What exactly is a 5455 you might ask? It's another "Costco Special" - looks identical to the 5450, though there will sometimes be a slight difference in the software. Still, this is quite a bit cheaper than the MSRP we're seeing elsewhere on the Web, so you may want to take advantage of this while you can! (Costco Web specials seem to sell out really fast)

BAH! Damn you people! I couldn't resist....I just went and bought this. I had previously convinced myself to wait for the next generation, as my 3870 is chugging along just fine. BUT, it's taken some serious self-restraint on my part NOT to have bought one of these so far. Then you go and show me that price, and I just can't resist.

I wish Costco had an affiliate program, but they already have such razor-thin margins on this stuff...

Costco.com products can be returned to any of our more than 400 Costco warehouses worldwide.

Why they says that on the site if I cannot select the country when I want to register?

The 5455 isn't a "Costco Special". This particualr 5455 might be, but the 5455 isn't in general. I bought my 5455 directly from HP.

I have a 3970 now.
This price is just too good.

Opinions: Wait or pull the trigger?

This is why I stopped going to www.techbargains.com

My goodness, that is cheap. 8O

I was holding out for a high-res PPC to replace my aging (and semi-broken) 3835, but I don't know if I'll be able to resist this kind of price...

I've got one in my cart now, but haven't push the order button. The total price for me was:

$579.00
$12.75 Shipping
34.52 Tax

$627.26 Total

I was going to empty my cart, because I've already ordered a Dell. I wonder if that means one other person will be able to make an order?

The SRP on this baby is $699, plus tax (depending on how and where you buy). If you get it below $699, shipped, then I think you did a good job. Mine was $665.91.

The price seems to be $599.99 now (the same as they're charging for a 3975). As I'm a member of Costco and have one fairly close, I wonder if I can pick one up in the store and save the shipping.

I had the same thought, but no, I checked with two local stores in the Bay Area....they both told me it was a web-only deal, they didn't even carry them in the store, for any price.

Actually, if you go into the store...they have two iPAQ 5455s shrink-wrapped together for $999.

I'm assuming that's a joke -- but you have to know Costco to get it. :-)

I was just at Costco yesterday (Saturday) and they didn't seem to have any 5455s. They had 3955s for $499, but that was the only iPAQ I saw. :-(

Well, I'm glad that I broke down and purchased one for the $579 cost before it went up.

Now I can give one of my 3670's to my wife, and my slightly burned out 3635 (modded by PocketPCTechs before PocketPCTechs became PocketPCTechs) to my 14 month old son (placed in the iPAQ rugged case, of course!)

As I mentioned, I got one, but settled for Standard shipping, and its not arrived yet.

The tracking number shows that the shippment left the Rialto, CA (sp?) Sort Facility, but has yet to be scanned anywhere else. I'm beginning to worry that it has evaporated somewhere.
